Entrelac Scarf

Discover the magic of Entrelac! This clever technique creates a beautiful fabric that looks woven using simple knit and purl stitches worked one block at a time. It's the perfect way to show off colorful self-striping yarns and create a project that looks much more complicated than it is.

In this two-session class, you'll learn how Entrelac is constructed, how the blocks connect to create the woven effect, and how to pick up stitches neatly as you work. By the end of class, you'll have the skills and confidence to continue your scarf and tackle future Entrelac projects on your own.

What You'll Learn

• How Entrelac fabric is constructed
• Picking up stitches along block edges
• Working right- and left-leaning triangles and rectangles
• Reading your knitting and recognizing the pattern repeat
• Tips for achieving neat edges and smooth color transitions

Materials:

• Pattern,
• 400 yards of worsted weight yarn; we recommend Noro Ito,
• US8 (5.0 mm) needles.

Please come to class with your materials selected.

Skill Level

For graduates of Knit 3 or knitters who are comfortable knitting and purling and have completed a few small projects.
